A Hot Week Ahead for Prescott
7/3/23
One word . . . hot. That’s what it’s going to be all week in the Prescott area. The National Weather Service reports high temperatures will be in the 90s through Saturday. In addition, wind gusts will be 30 miles per hour or higher for the week. With no rain in the forecast, there is an increased risk for a wildfire. Everyone is urged to exercise extreme caution with anything that can produce a flame or a spark. Stage One fire restrictions are in place throughout Yavapai County, and the fire danger in the Prescott National Forest is high. You should also take precautions against the heat. Limit outdoor activities to the early morning and early evening hours; if you do not have air conditioning in your home, go to a place that does have it like a mall or library, and make sure you drink plenty of water.
