Army Recognizes Two YCSO Detectives
4/21/23
The U.S. Army has recognized a pair of Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office detectives for their work in tracking down stolen military equipment. Detectives Scott Perry and Chad Nelson received citations from the Army’s Criminal Investigation Division for their efforts in solving the crime. According to the sheriff’s office, last July they were informed that a trailer carrying a shipping container with Army equipment bound for Kansas from California had been stolen from a truck that had broken down in the Seligman area. Perry and Nelson located the trailer in Chino Valley a few months later and arrested one suspect. A few months after that, the pair found four more suspects in the case and arrested them. The sheriff’s office and the Army recovered 90-percent of the stolen equipment.
