Arrest Made in Bomb Threat Against Sheriff's Office
1/27/23
An arrest has been made in connection with a bomb threat made against Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office headquarters. The incident occurred around noon Thursday. A woman called 911 and said a van was parked in front of the building and the man inside the vehicle told her not to move or he would blow her up. Deputies found the van in the parking lot at the corner of Union and Alarcon streets and found a man behind it. A bomb sniffing dog then examined the van, but found no trace of any explosive devices. The suspect, 43-year-old Michael Johncharles Anderson of California, claimed his female companion made up the story about the bomb. But the woman told deputies anderson had told her he wanted to blow up two city blocks. Anderson was arrested on charges of making terroristic threats and drug possession.
