Members of the EPA and Arizona Department of Environmental Quality will be working at the Iron King Mine superfund site in Dewey-Humboldt through the end of the year. They will assess land conditions, collect soil samples, and inspect various parts of the mine and the smelter site. Some of this work may involve the use of digging equipment. ADEQ personnel will have dust suppression measures in place during such activity. Meanwhile, the EPA continues to go over public comments regarding future cleanup plans for the Iron King Mine site.
