CAFMA Assists Motorist Stuck in Water in Big Chino Wash
The snow from last week’s big storm is melting, and that means an increased risk of flooding in washes and low water crossings. One motorist learned that the hard way over the weekend. According to the Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority, a person was driving their vehicle through Big Chino Wash when it got stuck in the water. CAFMA personnel responded to the scene, waded through the water, and assisted the motorist in getting back to dry land. No injuries were reported. CAFMA reminds everyone that if you come across water in a wash or a low water crossing, turn around. In addition, it is illegal to go around any temporary barriers that have been put up in a flooded area.
