The Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority has lost one of its firefighters. CAFMA officials announced Engineer Payton Parra passed away Friday. He had been a reserve firefighter for a year-and-a-half before being promoted to full-time. He served as a hazardous materials technician and worked with the peer support team. CAFMA officials describe Parra as having a calm, gentle demeanor with a subtle sense of humor. No further details are available at this time.
