CAFMA Responds to Trio of Wildfires

3/9/23

Even with all the snow and rain Yavapai County has received over the past couple of months, it has not eliminated the risk of a wildfire breaking out. Officials with the Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority report they have responded to three wildfires in their jurisdiction in the past week. The latest occurred on Wednesday at the Smoki Trail in Chino Valley where a fire under an acre in size broke out in grassland near some homes. No houses were damaged and no injuries were reported in that wildfire. CAFMA officials want to remind everyone that every year 85-percent of wildfires in the United States are human-caused. If you see unusual smoke or flames in your area, call 911 immediately.
