Car Crashes Up, Fatalities Down in Yavapai County

Yavapai County saw more vehicular accidents in 2021, but fewer deaths on our roadways. According to ADOT, there were 3,900 auto accidents in the county last year compared to 3,352 in 2020. It should be noted that fewer people traveled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 lockdowns. Though crashes were up in 2021, accident-related deaths were down. In 2020, 64 people lost their lives due to crashes. In 2021, that number was 57. More people were injured in auto accidents in Yavapai County in 2021, 1,727 compared to 1,514 in 2020.
