CHRISTMAS TREE PERMITS ON SALE FROM PRESCOTT NATIONAL FOREST

10/12/23

Many stores in the prescott area have their christmas items on display. If you haven’t yet gotten into the christmas spirit by now, then today may be your day.

The Prescott National Forest has started selling Christmas tree permits. This season, 700 permits will be available to purchase online only through Recreation.gov.

Details about designated cutting areas, dates and types of trees that may be cut can also be found on Recreation.gov. Just type in ‘Prescott National Forest Christmas Tree Permit in Arizona’.

Permits, which are $20, allow the holder to cut one tree up to 10 feet tall within the designated cutting areas, and will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis until they are gone.

No cutting is allowed prior to November 1st. A customer may purchase only one tree permit, which is intended for his or her family. Permits are for personal use only, and there are no refunds. Trees must be cut within designated cutting areas.

A map is available on Recreation.gov at time of purchase and can be downloaded before finalizing purchase online.
