Could Fire Restrictions Soon be Lifted in Yavapai County

8/16/23

Could we soon see an end to fire restrictions in the Prescott National Forest? Because of all the recent rain in Northern Arizona, the U.S. Forest Service has lifted all fire restrictions in the Coconino and Kaibab National Forests. But Forest Service officials want the public to be careful when visiting those forests, and always completely extinguish your campfires before you leave. As for the Prescott National Forest, it is still under Stage One fire restrictions. The fire danger, however, has gone down from very high to high in the Bradshaw and Chino ranger districts. The fire danger in the Verde Ranger District is moderate. With a 70-percent chance of rain through the end of the week and a drop in temperature, the end of fire restrictions in the Prescott National Forest might be on the horizon.
