Do Your Part to Prevent Wildfires
6/19/23
With the fire danger high in the Prescott National Forest, everyone needs to do their part to reduce the risk of a wildfire. The City of Prescott has some tips for that. One is to not park your vehicle on grass, as heat from your engine can ignite it. If you go camping, make sure your campfire is completely extinguished and the ashes are cool to the touch before you leave. You should also get together with your family to come up with an evacuation plan should a wildfire occur. Be aware of any burn restrictions, and do not burn on windy days. You should also create defensible space around your home, and remove all branches and leaves from your roof and gutters. If you see any sign of a wildfire, call 911 immediately.
