Drought conditions in Yavapai County are similar to what they were last week. According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, much of Southern Yavapai is abnormally dry, while the southeast corner of the county, including Black Canyon City, is in moderate drought. As for the rest of Arizona, three-quarters of the state is either abnormally dry or in moderate drought. Because of these dry conditions, the fire danger in the Prescott National Forest is high. Everyone is urged to exercise caution with anything that can produce and flame or a spark.
