Drought Conditions Stay the Same in Yavapai County
9/23/22
No change in Yavapai County’s drought status from the previous few weeks. According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, more than half of the county is in moderate drought. The northeastern corner of the county, including Sedona, and the area around Peeples Valley, Yarnell, and Congress in southwestern Yavapai County are listed as abnormally dry. More than three-quarters of the state is in either moderate drought or abnormally dry. Because of the current drought conditions in Yavapai County, the fire danger in the Prescott National Forest is low.
