Embry-Riddle has a new golf coach. Russell Pick has been hired to take over the position from Kim and Mike Haddow, who both retired earlier this summer. Pick had been the golf director at Dakota Wesleyan University, an NAIA school in South Dakota, since 2021. Under his guidance, the Tigers and Lady Tigers became highly competative teams in the Great Plains Athletic Conference. Pick also played golf as a student-athlete at Dakota Wesleyan, and placed fifth at the GPAC Championships in in 2018. He takes over an Embry-Riddle program that has won numerous conference titles over the past decade. Riddle Athletic Director Phil Hess said Pick has, “The right combination of coaching ability, enthusiasm for golf and his student-athletes, and understanding of what an Embry-Riddle student-athlete is. He is very capable of taking our golf programs forward.”
