Final Election Results, Bennett, McBrady Winners

The Yavapai County Recorder’s Office has finally completed the tally from last week’s primary election and posted the unofficial final vote totals. According to the County Election’s Department, in the race for the Republican nomination for the state senate, Ken Bennett is the winner, garnering 28,357 votes to Steve Zipperman’s 28,101 votes, a difference of 256 votes overall.


In the Republican race for the two nominations to the state legislature, Quang Nguyen was the overall winner with 36,832 votes, followed by Selena Bliss with 24,161. Incumbent Judy Burges finished third with 20,732 votes. Nguyen and Bliss advance to November’s general election.


And in the hotly contested race for a single seat on the Dewey-Humboldt Town Council, with five candidates running, Mark McBrady is the unofficial winner with 692 votes, followed by Terry Nolan with 646 votes and Denise Rogers with 610.


The final vote totals will now be submitted to the Yavapai County Board of Supervisors to be canvassed and made official within the next few days.
