Fire Danger High for all of Prescott National Forest
6/15/23
There is a greater chance of wildfires breaking out in our area. Prescott National Forest officials have upgraded the fire danger in the forest to high for the Bradshaw and Chino ranger districts. The fire danger in the Verde Ranger District has been high for the past few weeks. Everyone needs to be extra careful with anything that can produce a flame or a spark. Do not throw cigarettes out car windows or on the ground; make sure chains are not dragging from your vehicle as they can throw out sparks, and be sure your campfire is fully extinguished and the ashes are cool to the touch before you leave it. While there are currently no fire restrictions in the Prescott National Forest, Prescott Fire Chief Holger Durre says he expects restrictions to be implemented soon.
