Flooding Could Hit Parts of Yavapai County Thursday
3/15/23
Yavapai County Emergency Management officials are preparing for flooding in certain areas of the county. Due to recent snow melt and the current rain storms, both Oak Creek and Beaver Creek are expected to exceed flood stage Thursday morning. Cornville and Rimrock could experience the biggest risk of flooding. Parts of Sedona could also experience flooding. In addition, portions of the Verde River could approach flood stage. Emergency Management officials urge residents not to cross any flooded area in their vehicles. If a road is blocked off due to flooding, obey the signs and turn around. If you live in an area prone to flooding, free sandbags are available at Yavapai County Public Works facilities and local fire stations, though you will have to fill them yourself.
