Former Moving Company Owner from Prescott Who Posed As Veteran Sentenced for Fraud
5/18/23
The former owner of a Prescott area moving company who posed as a veteran has been sentenced to ten-and-a-half years in prison for fraud and forgery. Forty-two-year old John Hoyt Fullen owned and operated American Veteran Movers from 2017 to 2020. Fullen claimed to have served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was wounded in iraq. It was later determined that Fullen never served in any branch of the military. He had also purchased a fake Purple Heart certificate online, which he used to obtain an Arizona veterans license plate. Yavapai County Attorney Dennis McGrane said, “Mr. Fullen, a man with a lengthy felony record, chose to impersonate a veteran to personally profit off the valor of those who served in uniform. There is no place in Yavapai County for this type of conduct. Anyone who chooses to do so will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
