10/26/22
Former Prescott Valley Town Councilman Mike Flannery has passed away. Town officials report he died last Saturday after a battle with cancer. Flannery served on the town council from 1998-2011. He was appointed vice mayor in 2004. A Vietnam veteran and Bronze Star recipient, Flannery moved to Prescott Valley in the mid-1980s. He helped establish the Prescott Valley Economic Development Foundation and served on the Central Yavapai Metropolitan Planning Organization. Former Town Manager Larry Tarkowski said of Flannery, “When a person thinks of Mike, they think of someone who has given himself to public service, starting with his service in Vietnam. Mike gave of himself and his enormous amount of energy in making Prescott Valley a better place.”
