Hiker Injured in Granite Dells

6/8/23

A hiker was injured when she fell off a rock in the Granite Dells Wednesday. Units from the Prescott Fire Department and the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the scene around 1-45 p.m. A deputy sheriff found the 37-year-old woman, who had injured her right leg and was bleeding significantly. The deputy applied a tourniquet to the woman’s leg. Paramedics then arrived at the Flume Trail and carried out the hiker on a stokes basket. The woman was airlifted to Deer Valley for treatment. Prescott fire officials urge everyone to take a fully charged cell phone with you when out hiking so you can call 911 in the event of an emergency.
