Jack Pine Thinning Project Forces Trail Closure
Wolverton Mountain Trail Number 9415 will be closed to the public starting next Monday. The closure is due to a vegetation thinning project in the Jack Pine area of the Prescott National Forest. Crews will thin 525 acres of forest land southwest of Prescott along the west side of White Spar Road. The thinning project will help reduce hazardous fuels in the forest and reduce the risk of a catastrophic wildfire. Signs will be posted and barricades will be up in the project area. Visitors are asked to avoid that part of the forest. The trail closure will run through April 20th.
