Kayaker Rescued on Verde River

Members of the Verde Valley Fire District rescued a woman whose kayak overturned on the Verde River over the weekend. Fire officials report the woman was on the water alone when her kayak flipped over and she was trapped on some logs. Luckily, the woman was able to use her cell phone to call 911. Firefighters responded and pulled her from the river. The woman was not seriously injured.
