2/10/23
Dignity Health - Yavapai Regional Medical Center announced Wednesday evening that they are no longer considered part of the Blue Cross Blue Shield Arizona. Yavapai Regional Medical Group outpatient clinic services will remain in-network for patients who are members of BCBSAZ.
A statement released by Dignity Health - Yavapai Regional Medical Center read, “These are challenging times in the healthcare industry, especially in rural areas. We cannot maintain our high level of care without being fiscally responsible. But the controversy over the negotiations created a false narrative that YRMC is more focused on finances than the community. Our record speaks otherwise. We will continue to provide high-quality, compassionate and reliable health care services to this community.”
Blue cross, Blue Shield of Arizona sent an email to employers who utilize the healthcare provider. It read, “Yavapai Regional Medical Center has declined our contract increases and has decided to leave the Blue Cross® Blue Shield® of Arizona network. In the last few weeks, we have been redirecting care and helping members get the care they need. We will help members find new in-network providers. There are approximately 50 physicians associated with the hospital that will no longer be in network. There are several thousand providers in the county who are not impacted.”
