More Windy Conditions for Prescott This Week

5/8/23

It’s another week to be mindful of anything that can produce a flame or a spark. Windy conditions are in the forecast throughout the week, with gusts ranging anywhere between 20 to 30 miles per hour. While the fire danger is moderate in the Prescott National Forest, several small wildfires have broken out around the Tri-City area over the past few weeks. If you are camping in the forest, be sure your campfire is fully extinguished and the ashes are cool to the touch before you leave. Make sure you properly dispose of cigarette butts. Do not throw them out your car window or on the ground. Also make sure no chains are dragging from your vehicle as they can give off sparks and start a wildfire.
