Mountain Lion Shot in Prescott

A mountain lion was shot and killed by an Arizona Game and Fish officer in Prescott Sunday night. The agency reports one mountain lion entered the yard of a residence and attacked a dog, while another lion became aggressive toward the homeowner. The mountain lion that was shot was an adult female between three to five years old, and is believed to be one of several bigs cats responsible for killing three dogs in the Rosser Street area over the past few weeks.

Officers from the state Game and Fish Department are patrolling the neighborhood where the mountain lion was shot. If you do see a mountain lion in your neighborhood, call Game and Fish at 623-236-7201.
