New YC Budget Includes Property Tax Hike
5/17/23
The Yavapai College District Governing Board approved the budget for the 2023-2024 school year, and county residents will be shelling out a bit more money for the college. The board approved a five-percent increase in the primary property tax levy. This means property owners in Yavapai County will pay an additional estimate of seven dollars in property taxes per $100,000 of home value. College officials say even with this tax increase, county homeowners and businesses still enjoy some of the lowest property taxes in the country. Some of the initiatives included in the new budget are increased partnerships with public schools, offering BA degrees and short-term certificates, and more facilities and equipment for high-demand jobs.
