No Change to Yavapai County's Drought Status
Even with Monday’s severe thunderstorms, drought conditions for Yavapai County are the same as last week. According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, most of the county is abnormally dry, with the southeastern corner of the county– including Black Canyon City -- and the northwestern corner of the county -- including Seligman -- in moderate drought. Three-quarters of the state is either in moderate drought or abnormally dry. Because of the current drought conditions in Yavapai County, the fire danger in the Prescott National Forest is low.
