Pile Burning Underway in Prescott Basin
Don’t be surprised if you see smoke coming from the Prescott Basin this month. Prescott National Forest crews are conducting pile burns. Light smoke may be visible in Chino Valley and surrounding areas. The purpose of pile burns is to reduce hazardous fuels to reduce the risk of a catastrophic wildfire. It also helps improve the local ecosystem. Visitors to this area of the Prescott National Forest are reminded to obey all traffic signs and be alert for firefighters and fire-related vehicles.
