Prescott Area Congressman Eli Crane Honors Navajo Code Talkers

8/15/23

They used their language to create an unbreakable code. Monday was Navajo Code Talkers Day, honoring the members of the tribe who served in that unit during World War II. Prescott area Congresman Eli Crane released this statement to mark the occasion, “Navajo Code Talkers Day commemorates the exceptional contributions of the code talkers from Navajo Nation who served during World War II, and honors their extraordinary actions. These Marines used their language to transmit encrypted messages throughout the Pacific Theater, helping pave the way to an American victory. As the member of Congress from Arizona’s 2nd Congressional District, I'm immensely proud to represent the Navajo Nation and some of the last surviving navajo code talkers alive today."
