Prescott Firefighters Rescue Hiker Trapped in Rocks
4/28/23
The Prescott Fire Department rescued a hiker who had been trapped for several hours in a rocky area of Watson Lake. According to fire department officials, firefighters were called to the scene just after 10:30 Thursday morning. They came across a woman in her 20s near the junction of the Flume and Watson Dam trails.
Firefighters learned that the woman had been hiking by herself when she left the trail and scrambled over some boulders. She slipped and her left leg became stuck between a couple of boulders. The woman shouted for help for three hours before a passerby found her and called 911. Firefighters lubricated the woman’s leg and used a harness to free her from the boulders. She was taken to Yavapai Regional Medical Center. The extent of her injuries are not known.
