Prescott Police Host K9 Trauma Course

4/25/23

Law enforcement personnel are trained in first aid for humans. Now some local officers have the knowledge to treat any injured dogs they come across. Staff from the Hayden Road Animal Hospital in Scottsdale were in Prescott recently to teach a K9 advanced trauma course. Personnel from the Prescott and Prescott Valley police departments, Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office, Prescott Animal Control, and Prescott Fire Department attended this course. The training included treatment for gunshots wounds, blunt trauma, lacerations, and fentanyl exposure. The K9 advanced trauma course was paid for by the Arizona Law Enforcement Canine Association and Circle K.
