Prescribed Burn on Mingus Mt.

Don’t be surprised if you see smoke coming from Mingus Mountain. Prescott National Forest crews began prescribed burning operations today near Mingus Springs Ranch and Kendall Peak. The burn will cover 1,275 acres of land. Smoke should be visible for several days. The purpose of the burn is to reduce the amount of hazardous fuels in order to prevent catastrophic wildfires and restore forest health. Visitors to Mingus Mountain are urged to obey all traffic signs and use caution when traveling through the burn area.
