PV Care Facility Evacuated
10/21/22
First responders were summoned to the Grayson House care facility in Prescott Valley Tuesday evening to find smoke in the building due to electrical issues. The town’s building official, Woody Lewis, determined that the building was not safe for occupancy until the cause of the electrical issue was located and repaired. The 29 occupants, many who were on oxygen or needing wheelchair assistance, had to be evacuated to a different facility. Pedro Rodriguez, the town’s transit coordinator, and NHDEC's Bobbi Coccaro, coordinated efforts to utilize the town’s new Yavaline transit fleet along with three New Horizons buses to safely relocate folks to The Landings, an assisted living and secured care facility. Within a two-hour period, all residents were safely relocated.
