PVPD Sergeant Arrested in Domestic Violence Incident

A sergeant with the Prescott Valley Police Department is under arrest today following a domestic violence report. According to a release from PVPD, officers were first dispatched Wednesday afternoon to a home in Prescott Valley, then contacted the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office to investigate when they realized a police department employee was involved in the reported incident. 


Following the investigation, Wednesday evening sheriff’s deputies arrested Prescott Valley Police Sergeant Michael Morris. He was booked into the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office detention center on charges of disorderly conduct per domestic violence and criminal damage per domestic violence. 


The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office is conducting the criminal investigation at the request of the Prescott Valley Police Department, and Sergeant Michael Morris is on administrative leave pending an internal investigation into this incident.
