Rainy Days, Possible Flooding, Ahead for Yavapai County

3/14/23

Another storm is about to come through Yavapai County. It won’t bring any snow, but there will be rain, and a lot of it. The National Weather Service is calling for a 30-percent chance of showers Tuesday night and an 80-percent chance Wednesday. Between that and the recent snow melt, the chance for flooding along creeks, rivers, and low water crossings will increase. Yavapai County Emergency Management reports there could be minor flooding along Oak Creek and Beaver Creek. Residents who live in areas prone to flooding can get sandbags from the county. They are available at county public works facilities and various fire stations throughout Yavapai County, though you will need to fill them yourself. More rain is also expected for Yavapai County on Sunday.
