Severe Thunderstorms Pound Yavapai County
Rain hammered Yavapai County Monday. According to the County Flood Control District, Cottonwood received 1.30 inches of rain. Prescott Heights and Mingus Mountain both got under an inch-and-a-quarter of rain. Goldwater Lake, Camp Verde, and Sedona all had well over an inch of rain. Downtown Prescott received 0.94 inches. Thumb Butte got 0.87 inches. Prescott Gateway Mall and Ash Fork both had 0.79 inches. Outer Loop Road received three-quarters of an inch of rain. Mayer got more than half-an-inch of rain. Prescott Valley had under a half-inch of rain, and Chino Valley and Williamson Valley both received 0.35 inches of rain. We could see more rain today in the Prescott area as the National Weather Service is forecasting a 20-percent chance of thunderstorms.
