Even though there won’t be much in the way of rain this week for the Prescott area, that doesn’t mean the Monsoon is over. The Monsoon generally lasts until September 30th. Officials with Yavapai County Emergency Management want everyone to still be prepared in the event of heavy rain. You should have an emergency plan for your family on where to meet in the event of a weather emergency. Also, know where the nearest high ground is to your home and keep important documents in waterproof containers. Don’t forget your pets, either. Have an emergency kit with essential supplies for your dog or cat ready to go in case you need to evacuate to a shelter during a storm. Also, find out which shelters will accept pets.
