Officials with the Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority are crediting smoke detectors with saving a family from a fire. Just before midnight Monday, CAFMA units were dispatched to the 9800 block of East Arrowhead Drive in Prescott Valley for a structure fire. Smoke alarms alerted the occupants of the home, who safely evacuated. Firefighters brought the blaze under control. The cause of the fire is not known at this time.
