The SWAT team had to be called out to Cottonwood to deal with a wanted felon. According to Cottonwood police, officers were sent to the Pine Shadows Community Thursday afternoon to deal with a person with a felony warrant out of Yavapai County. When the suspect refused to exit the residence, the Verde Valley Regional SWAT team was dispatched to the scene. Negotiators made contact with the suspect, who refused to surrender. SWAT personnel then deployed tactics that led to the suspect exiting the residence. The suspect was taken into custody and booked into the Yavapai County Jail. No injuries were reported during this situation.
