SWAT Team Arrests Camp Verde Man Wanted for Assault
12/1/22
Officers from the Cottonwood Police Department and Verde Valley SWAT team arrested a man wanted for causing a motorcycle crash that injured two people. According to Cottonwood Police, in September of last year, 34-year-old Michael Wayne Dunegan was involved in an assault at a Cottonwood bar. He then followed two of the people involved in the incident onto Main Street, where he kicked a woman off a motorcycle and caused the bike to crash, injuring the other rider. Dunegan and three juveniles allegedly surrounded the two victims, but one of them pulled out a gun and fired several warning shots, forcing the suspects to flee. Officers obtained a search warrant for Dunegan’s Camp Verde home. He was arrested Wednesday morning and faces multiple felony charges.
