The Drought is Creeping Back into Yavapai County
Even though it has rained quite a bit over the past week, it is getting drier in Yavapai County. According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, the southeast corner of the county, including Black Canyon City, is listed as abnormally dry. No drought conditions are reported anywhere else in Yavapai County. As for the rest of Arizona, three-quarters of the state is also listed as abnormally dry. Because of these dry conditions, the fire danger in the Prescott National Forest is very high. Everyone is urged to exercise caution with anything that can produce and flame or a spark.
