
Three in the Running for Vacant YC Board Seat

The list of candidates to fill the vacant seat on the Yavapai College Governing Board has been narrowed to three. They are Michael Ellegood, a Vietnam Veteran and civil engineer who is the former director of Maricopa County Public Works; Stephen Bracety, the current Vice President of Operations and Talent Management for Grace Hospitality Group and past president of the Prescott Fine Arts Association; and Joseph Butner, a former Navy SEAL and prosecutor with the Yavapai County Attorney’s Office. The three are vying for the seat vacated by Mitch Padilla, who was elected as Prescott Justice of the Peace. The public can comment on the candidates by emailing County Schools Superintendent Tim Carter at tim.carter@yavapaiaz.gov. The new board member will be chosen December 23rd.
