11/16/23
Multiple agencies serving a search warrant at a home in Cottonwood discovered drugs and drug paraphenlia and seized numerous electronic devices.
Just before 7 o'clock Wednesday morning, the Cottonwood Police Department, supported by the Verde Valley Regional SWAT Team, Yavapai County Sheriff's Office, and Yavapai College Police Department, executed a search warrant at a residence in the 900 block of E. Mingus Avenue as part of an ongoing investigation into the possession of alleged illicit internet materials. Detectives discovered usable quantities of methamphetamine along with related drug paraphernalia. Multiple electronic devices such as cell phones, tablets, and computers were seized for further examination.
Two individuals, 29-year-old Justin Schexnayder and 35-year-old Antonio Schexnayder, have been arrested and are facing felony charges related to the possession and sale of methamphetamine along with drug paraphernalia.
Given the nature of the initial investigation, additional charges concerning the alleged illicit internet materials will be determined upon the completion of a forensic analysis of the electronic devices, which were seized. Both suspects are currently being held at the Yavapai County Jail as the investigation continues.
