USMC Honors Granite Mountain Hotshots

The U.S. Marine Corps recruiting station in Phoenix is honoring the Granite Mountain Hotshots. Last week, the station changed its name to USMC Recruiting Station Phoenix Hotshots. In addition, last Friday personnel from the recruiting station hiked to the giant juniper tree that the hotshots saved during the 2013 Doce Fire. That’s where they held the name change ceremony for their facility. This year marks the tenth anniversary of the Yarnell Hill Wildfire which took the lives of 19 members of the Granite Mountain Hotshots.
