A wildfire shutdown part of I-17 in Yavapai County Thursday evening. The right lane of southbound 17 near Sunset Point was blocked for a time due to the fire. The left lane remained open, but traffic moved slow, resulting in a back-up all the way to Cordes Junction. The fire grew to 160 acres before fire crews brought it under control. Aerial tankers were used in the firefighting effort. The right lane was finally re-opened just before 6:15 p.m. The cause of the fire is not known at this time.
