WOMAN ARRESTED FOR ATTEMPTED HOMICIDE IN PRESCOTT
9/22/23
Prescott Police responded to the 200 block of Thoroughbred Drive just after midnight Wednesday regarding a report of a shooting at a residence.
According to police officials, when officers arrived they determined a male victim had suffered a gunshot wound to his wrist. He was treated on scene, transported to a local hospital, then flown for non-life-threatening injuries to a hospital in the Phoenix area.
The investigation revealed that the involved parties were in the middle of a divorce and had been separated for several months. The suspect, 62-year-old Christina Pasqualetto, was living at their home in Gilbert while the victim lived in their Prescott home. The 80-year-old victim, Jon Pasqualetto, said he had changed the locks at the Prescott house, but that he suspected his wife of taking the keys.
During an interview with police, the suspect admitted, she did not want to get divorced and drove from Gilbert to the Prescott. She entered the bedroom where the victim was in bed, and a verbal argument ensued. When he told her that he still wanted a divorce and wasn't changing his mind, she produced a handgun and shot him. The victim knocked her down, causing her to drop the gun. He then ran to a neighbor’s house to call 9-1-1.
The victim also advised officers the suspect had stolen checks from his personal account. The suspect admitted to the forgery and theft in an interview with detectives.
The suspect was booked into the Yavapai County Jail on charges of Attempted First Degree Murder, Aggravated Assault, Forgery and Theft.
