The season opener for the Yavapai College Volleyball team did not go their way as they got swept by number two ranked Scottsdale College Monday. Would Wednesday’s match at Phoenix College be different? Actually, it would. The Lady Riders dominated play all night long and came away with a 3-0 sweep of the Lady Bears. No stats were posted for Yavapai prior to air time. The win improves YC's record to 1-1 on the season. The Lady Riders travel to Colorado to take part in the Trinidad State Tournament. Tomorrow they face Frank Phillips College and the host school. On Saturday, YC takes on Clarendon College and Amarillo College. Yavapai’s first home match of 2023 takes place next Wednesday versus Mesa, then they host the Dalton Overstreet Tournament August 31st through September 2nd.
