Last weekend the Yavapai College Women’s Soccer team pulled off an upset win over number five ranked Pima College. Last night, the Lady Riders took on another top ten team. They hosted number ten ranked Arizona Western. Playing through the rain at Prescott’s Ken Lindey Field, YC managed five shots on goal, but could not put any of them in the net. The Lady Matadors, meanwhile, kept up a steady attack on goal. The result was a 3-0 win for Arizona Western. That puts Yavapai’s record at 2-1 on the young season. The Lady Riders hit the pitch again tomorrow for a game against Cochise College, then on Saturday they host Western Wyoming. These games are part of the Roughrider Showcase.
