YCSO CONDUCTS TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT PATROLS IN HAZARDOUS AREAS OF THE COUNTY
In response to numerous citizen concerns and complaints, Yavapai County Sheriff's Deputies recently conducted extra patrol details in specific areas of the county. In September, YCSO worked six additional details with seven Deputies assigned to the following areas; Williamson Valley Road, Coyote Springs, Antelope Meadows, Prescott East Highway, and Cornville Road.
Deputies conducted 67 traffic stops and issued 53 citations during this period, concentrating on speeding, reckless driving, and other moving violations in those highly affected areas.
The extra patrols were funded by a grant from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, which also funded the purchase of two police vehicles used by the Sheriff's Office traffic enforcement section specifically to focus on traffic safety.
