YCSO Deputy Puts Out Fire in Dewey

5/23/23

A Yavapai County Sheriff’s Deputy took on the role of firefighter Monday Morning. Crews from the Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority were called to the intersection of Newtown Avenue and Wicklow Place in Dewey for a dump truck fire. When they arrived, they found the deputy using a fire extinguisher to put out the flames. CAFMA officials say there were powerlines near the dump truck, and if the fire had spread, it could have resulted in a power outage. They credit the deputy’s quick action in preventing the fire from spreading.
